Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials

The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials take place in Stamford between 5th and 8th September 2019 at Burghley House. One of the main equestrian events of the year it is always well organised and attended and well worth a visit if you have the time. Come and watch the best 3 day event riders and horses compete in fabulous surroundings.

Burghley Horse Trials

On Thursday and Friday the competitors complete the dressage phase. This is all about control which is a real challenge when the horses are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to race around Burghley Park on Saturday’s cross country day! A good score in the dressage sets the competitors up well for the rest of the competition so tension is always high. If you don’t have tickets for the dressage there are plenty of screens to watch the action.

Saturday is all about the cross country. The course is always challenging and the fences huge! It is an opportunity for you to walk around the grounds and see the action from a number of different standpoints. It also gives you an opportunity to relax with a picnic in the beautiful parkland surrounding Burghley House.

Sunday is the final phase, show jumping. The riders compete in reverse order so tension remains high right until the final round. Who will win? We will have to wait and see but whoever it is will have deserved their prize.

Throughout all of this there is an extensive shopping village, dog agility and many other attractions so plenty to fill up your days during your visit. For more information visit:
